# Introduction

## Overview

Bombyx is a parametric tool for early-stage design life cycle assessment using Grasshopper in Rhino3D based on the Swiss KBOB database for materials and energy carriers.

Bombyx is developed by the [Chair of Sustainable Construction](https://sc.ibi.ethz.ch/en/) at [ETH Zurich](https://ethz.ch/de.html).

This collection contains the documentation regarding the installation and usage of the plugin, including the methodologies and databases used, and descriptions about individual components.
